Curriculum vitae 
Tamara completed a Masters in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford in 2012. She specialised in migration, human rights and international law during her Bachelors in Law at the University of Warwick, which included a year at the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Tamara has previously worked with the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Ghana (on the Migrating Out of Poverty project), the UN Research Institute for Social Development (on regional governance of migrants’ rights), and IOM-Nederland (on development activities of Ethiopian and Ghanaian diaspora communities in the Netherlands).

Onderzoeksactiviteiten / research activities 
Tamara conducts research on Migrant Mortality and Border Policies in the Mediterranean, for the project The Human Costs of Border Control. Tamara is compiling a database of death certificates of (mostly unidentified) irregular migrants who have died in the process of crossing the Mediterranean into the EU, and another database of ‘border policies’ of the EU and the Member States of the Mediterranean (Spain, Italy, Greece and Malta), with the aim of analyzing the relationship between migrant mortality rates and shifts in European border control policies or practices.
